Why hello there...

(I know this is really late, sorry!)

I never have enough products to do a monthly favourites as I don't tend to stray from my routine, so I thought I would do a pit and peak every month - one product I've loved and one not so much. I don't see many negative reviews but it's important to let people know what you really think of products, so hopefully these posts will be fun and informative, enjoy!

Pit: Collection Lasting colour matte lipstick in Taffeta Bloom. I had high hope for this lipstick. I'm all about the matte so when I saw Collections new range of matte lipsticks I was very excited. The colour looked great, packaging was fine, everything was good until I applied it. It sticks to all the dry patched on your lips, gets in all those nooks and crannies you don't want it to get and just sits there. The colour really doesn't suit me which isn't the products fault, although there isn't a huge range in the matte section. The packaging doesn't stay on very well, although I do like the sleek design. Overall unfortunately I'm really not impressed which sucks as I thought I was going to find a new matte love, but alas apparently not.

Burts Bees pomegranate and cranberry sugar scrub

Peak: Burt's Bees cranberry and pomegranate sugar scrub. I LOVE this stuff! My mum actually got this in a set from a charity shop (See post here). I really struggle with shaving my legs ~~(TMI)~~ as I have sensitive skin and eczema, but this stuff has been amazing! I can't stand really thin scrubs with tiny particles, I'm all about the chunky, rough scrubs that actually do something, and this is one of them. It looks like a very similar consistency to The Body shop raspberry scrub with all the little seeds in it as well as being a sugar scrub and has such a strong scent. Although being rough, it has a tonne of oil in it which really moisturises and leaves your skin feeling amazing. They still sell this on FeelUnique but it's quite expensive, so if anyone has any suggestions for cheaper scrubs I could try, let me know in the comments!

Why, hello there...

I've been tagged by the lovely Isobel from IsobelxHayes who actually did a guest post on my blog this week which you can check out here. So as you can see from the title, it's the 'all bloggers great and small' tag. This tag is especially for blogs with under 1000 followers to give them more recognition! Lets get started with the questions..

1.What makes you want to blog?

I originally started because most youtubers used more high-end products and I wanted something that was dedicated to the high street and actually saving money on beauty/fashion. I love blogging because it's a fun hobby and I like to think that some of my posts are actually useful to someone!

2. Your morning skin routine?

I don't really use a lot like some people but I do use the basics. I use the Boots tee tree and witch hazel foaming face wash and the St Ives apricot scrub to clean my face and ex-foliate. Then I use a cocoa body lotion on my face and neck and Nip + Fab's Pistachio sundae body butter on my arms.

3. Your favourite blogger?

I have so many! Here are a few:

4. A beauty product you can't live without?

I'd have to say either my natural collection shineaway foundation or my MUA matte lipstick in wild berry. I get pretty bad skin and this foundation does the job of covering it without making it dry and my MUA lipstick is brilliant for a pop of colour.

5. Favourite drugstore make up brand?

Either MUA or Collection.

6. Favourite high end make up brand?

Never tried anything high end!

7.What is your staple wardrobe item?
My healed black ankle boots! They're getting a bit tatty now but I love them, they go with everything!

8. What product wouldn't you recommend?
I haven't tried enough products to say not to recommend anything! The only thing I'm not a massive fan of is an elf lipstick I have, and that's only because of the packaging!

Guest Post | Drug store essentials.

It's nice here isn't it? Hello hello, new readers. I am Isobel, owner of my own blog, titled isobelxhayes. I am here today on the wonderful Naomi's blog to share with you my wisdom (ahem) of budget drugstore basics that you should all own. Well, that I think you should own. My opinion, obviously, wink wink.

Okay so first up I'm gonna share with you my tips and tricks. At the moment, Boots have offers on on just about every makeup stand. GET YOURSELF DOWN THERE. Maybelline on 3 for 2, £2 off the new Rimmel ScandalEyes Rockin' Curves mascara, buy one get one half price on L'Oreal..etc. How can you pass up these offers? Why pay full price? GO NOW. Yeah, you might be parting with your beloved £'s and pennies, but hey, it's cheaper than waiting then having to pay full price, isn't it? Boo.

Also, buying the pricier products doesn't at all mean they're any better than the cheaper ones, no way. I know this for a fact. Firstly, there's the new Maybelline Baby Skin. It's amazing, up there with the best primers I've ever owned, and it's a steal at £7.99. You only need to use a tiny-weeny pea sized amount, too, around your nose area, so THAT tube is going to last a lifetime. Okay, I'm exaggerating, but it will last a long time. Scout's honour.

And another amazing Maybelline (I'm obsessed) product is the Baby Lips. When I first heard about them I wasn't so sure, but now I own two and think they're a brilliant invention. Colour and moisture? What more could a girl want? And at the moment, these are on 3 for 2 at Boots. At £2.99, this means you could get 3 of the Baby Lips shades for £5.98! Bargain, I know. Bet you're glad you're reading this post now. Or, you could get ALL 6 (in the UK) shades for £11.96! Okay, maybe a little pricier...but they're going to go off this offer soon and that means full price - £17.94 for all 6. If you buy them now you get a saving of £5.98. So in my eyes, completely worth it. Gosh that maths hurt my brain.

My final drugstore product that I definitely think everyone should own is the Collection Fast Stroke Liquid Eyeliner. Unfortunately I don't have a photo but here's one taken from the Superdrug website. I'm pleased to announce it looks exactly the same in real life. It's £2.99 from Boots and it's the best eyeliner I've ever owned, and I've owned a range of eyeliners! I love having winged liner and you rarely see me without it. This is so easy to apply, perfect brush and at £2.99...well, need I say more?

So that's it...cheap drugstore essentials. Go and buy them now. While you still have the chance!

Valentine's day is coming up, and even though the only reason I'm looking forward to it is the cheap Valentine's day chocolate the day after, I thought it would be really fun to create a make up look.

Products Used -

Maybelline Brow Drama - £ 3.99

Collection concealer - £4.19

Rimmel Lash Accelerator mascara - £7.99

Maybelline Precision eyeliner - £4.99

MUA matte palette - £4

MUA Undressed palette - £4

MUA blush (bubblegum) - £1

MUA lipstick (Nectar) - £1

MUA lipstick (shade 12) - £1

All of the products I used are from the drugstore and under £10, and I've just realised that 90% of the products I used was from MUA...

I did the eyeshadow first, to prevent fall outs on my face. I used shade 1 from the Undressed palette first, which is a really pale pink shimmery shadow, I use this all the time as a highlighter on the inner corners and the brow bone. (I also used it later on the bridge of my nose and my cheeks) Then I used shade 2 from the same palette all over my lid for a nice wash of pink, hence the theme of valentine's day. After that I used the shade Truffle from the MUA matte palette, which is a (obviously) matte, brown shade with hints of burgundy in it, on the outer corners of my eyes, making sure that it was blended nicely.

After the eyeshadows, it was just the usual makeup routine - winged eyeliner, curled lashes, and mascara.

Because the eyeshadows I used fell out all around my eyes, I just used a large powder brush to sweep away all the eyeshadow aftermaths. Then it was the concealer under the eyes, around the nose, and the lips. You can use a foundation for a more flawless finish, but I was too lazy so I skipped that step!

For the rest of the face, I just used a hot pink blush, careful not to apply too much, to avoid the Russian doll look completely.

For the lips, you can use a nude/light pink lipstick for a more natural finish, since the eye makeup was quite smokey, but I decided to whip out my bright pink lipstick, because why not?
