The Best Week of My Life.

Why, Hello there..

*THIS POST WAS IN A MAGAZINE!! THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THE GUYS AT CONNECTING YOU MAGAZINE FOR SCRIPTE UNION, YOU'RE FAB!*

I'm back! As you can tell from the title it was the most amazing week of my life (so far). I genuinely can't contain my excitement/amazement/happiness at how powerful this last week has been. WARNING: this post will probably be pretty long, but I would strongly advise reading it. Also it might get a bit preachy, if you REALLY don't like that sort of thing don't read it. But please read it :)

If you didn't know already, I went to a Christian camp, which I've explained what it is here. The one I go to is called Helter Skelter, run my the amazing Claire and Ali Scott. I knew quite a few people as I went last year, so it was awesome to see them all again and to meet new people. Everyone there is literally the most genuine, nicest, passionate, funniest and fabulous people I have ever met. None of them judge you at all. They will listen to your problems and take it all in and won't even bat an eye-lid. They're the most encouraging people who give the best advice and pray for you and love you so much, like one of their family. Their faith in God is so incredibly inspiring it makes me want to serve God even more and be just like them. The amount of DMC's (deep meaningful conversations) we had was insane. Just such compassionate people willing to listen to me rambling on about my problems and given such awesome Godly advice. God has really spoken through these fabulous people and given such encouragement.

Me in Blue.

These girls are the most amazing, fabulous and sassy girls I have ever had the pleasure to meet. They're all so unique and gifted by God in their own special ways and they never fail to make me smile. All of them are so blessed by God and I can not wait to see how God will work in their lives. Lots of love you guys, stay sassy. I've met such a massive group of friends with our little inside jokes (DENCH..) and who are all so INCREDIBLY talented and I love you all so so so so so so much and I miss you. More than I could say.

This is the whole camp together, including the leaders. Thank you so much to the leaders who got barely any sleep, organised everything and put up with us for a whole week. They do sooooo much for us and listen and pray for us all, and love us all as individuals. They are defiantly the most inspiring people with the most amazing stories which inspires me to do more in serving God. The way they act and their lives are so flippin' awesome. AAAARRGGGGGggggggghhhh I can't say how much I love all of these guys.

The weeks topic was Gods kingdom on Earth. We got to learn about Heaven and how to show and represent Gods Kingdom on Earth. Also we learnt about how much God loves us all, even though we've all done some pretty stupid stuff in our lives. God is good.
We went off site a few times to go to various activities including bowling, knee-boarding, archery, shopping, punting in Oxford and loads of other stuff. We also did so many more activites during the day on site, and also small groups where we split up into our groups and read from the Bible and had discussions which were really helpful and intriguing.

I decided to get baptised this week as well! I really felt God telling me it was the right time, so I text my Pastor (head of my church) asking to get baptised soon! I'm sooooo excited!!!!!!!

There is so much I could say and explain, but I think this is long enough. If you want any more information feel free to leave a comment on this post asking for more info and I will get back to you, whether it's more info about camps or want to know more about God, go for it!

God bless.

Thanking you,

Naomi

  1. Hi Naomi, I'm Clare and work for Scripture Union. Ali and Claire sent me the link to your blog and I just wanted to say that I'm so pleased you had a good time at Helter Skelter. It is really encouraging to read how much you loved the activities, being part of the community and thinking more about God. Getting baptised is a really special experience so I hope it is a real celebration of your relationship with God and your committment to follow him. Clare
