Gingerbread Biscuits - #BigBlogmasProject2014

06:08:00

Why, hello there...

I never cook/bake. Ever. So, just for blogmas I have attempted to make gingerbread biscuits, and they didn't go too badly! So I thought I would share with you how I made them! It's kind of a mix up with two recipes I found on the internet so I hope you enjoy!

These are the ingredients you need:

+ 125g of Unsalted butter
+ 100g of soft brown sugar
+ 4tbsp Golden syrup
+ 325g of plain flour
+ 1tsp bicarb of soda
+ 2 tsp of ground ginger
+ Anything you want to decorate your biscuits

Makes about 25-30 depending on the size of your cutters.

1. Preheat your over to 170C or gas mark 3. Line some trays with grease proof paper.

2. Take your sugar, butter and golden syrup and put them in a medium sized pan and heat until all the ingredients are melted, then leave to cool.

3. Sieve together your flour, bicarb of soda and ginger into a bowl and mix. Then slowly add your melted ingredients and stir until the mixture become a still dough.

4. Leave to cool in the fridge for 30 minutes. Then take out, roll out the dough and cut out your biscuits and pace them onto your baking trays, allowing room for them to spread a little.

5. If you want your biscuits to be softer, leave them in the oven for about 10 minute. If you want them crispy, leave them in for at most 15 minutes. Then take them out and put the biscuits onto a cooling rack.

6. Decorate! You can do what ever you want, glitter, icing, pearls, anything you can find in the supermarket.

I have tastes them and they're actually ok! Let me know if you make any and send me a pic on twitter - @naomi_joy_

What do you like to bake for christmas?

Thanking you,

Naomi
